Welcome!

Bonjour tout le monde!

Welcome to my blog about the joys of baking and cooking, and (let's not forget most importantly...) eating!

So you might be wondering who I am.

Well that my friend, is a great question.

Although still I’m in the process of figuring that out, I’ll give you a short rundown on what I have gathered so far:

I am, au contraire to what the name may appear, a Chinese thoroughbred raised in the suburbs of Toronto (with a possible reincarnation as an 18th century Parisien). As a product of Confucian principles such as filial piety, my family is my backbone and my guinea pigs for my new food creations.

I am an introverted extrovert who is conservatively liberal, passionately reserved and idealistically realistic. I like long walks in the park with my goldfish, star-gazing, baking (but not eating) high-calorie cakes, stuffing my face in fresh laundry, meditating beside a tranquil stream, singing for hours on end in the bathroom, and being transported to surreal realms through mystical stories with a nice cup of Oolong tea.

I also love traveling and learning about new cultures and people (such as how Mongolians greet their guests by dancing with chopsticks and other tableware). I enjoy chatting with strangers and listening to their stories of life. And I'm always on the lookout for a food adventure, except when it involves super-spicy tastebud-numbing foods which may hinder my future attempts at trying other new things in life.

Keep posted for my ongoing gastronomic adventures!

(That's not me by the way)
